Northern Pacific passenger train number 2, the North Coast Limited, led by Ten-wheeler-type steam locomotive mis-numbered 300 by touch-up artist (no such number on roster at the time), along the Columbia River at Goble, Oregon, on April 29, 1900. Purportedly the inaugural eastbound run of the train that will be NP's flagship for nearly 70 years, eight-car all-first-class train consists of baggage car, railway post office car, four Pullman sleeping cars, dining car, library-observation car.
