Scope and content
The Lewis Arthur Dinsmore Collection is comprised of letters written when helping the survey for the Great Northern Railway in North Dakota the summer of 1893. He was west of Minot, North Dakota and moved with the work. They lived in tents and experienced everything from bad water and mosquitos to prairie fires. He loved wild flowers and seemed to have a good time. He turned 19 that summer..
