Great Northern Steam Locomotives 2118, 2049 at Interbay, Washington in 1947.

Great Northern Steam Locomotives 2118, 2049 at Interbay, Washington in 1947. Steam Locomotives 2118, Class Q-1 and 2049, Class R-2. Notes by photographer Hal Will: 'To steam railroad buffs this 1948 portrait is a pleasing sight. These two locomotives were too long to fit in the roundhouse so their noses had to stay outside. This scene was at Great Northern's Interbay (Seattle) yard. [HW]'. (The Interbay stalls were long enough to accomodate both, and normally the locomotives entered nose-first, so it is likely this photo was posed) . Other subject classes: Stm Loco
