The Rick Leach Collection consists of maps, plats, mechanical drawings and other documents from the Northern Pacific Railroad, Great Northern Railway, Southern Pacific Railroad, Burlington Northern, and Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway over the period from 1915 to 1971.
Leach, Richard W.The Peter N. Halgren collection includes periodical clippings and photographs Mr. Halgren used for research on railroads and railroad modeling. It is organized by railroad, topic, locomotive type, car type and other subjects selected by Mr. Halgren. Circus trains make up the contents of several binders. Much of the collection includes photocopies of commonly available periodicals as well as photographs collected by Mr. Halgren. Many North American railroads are covered, including the Southern Pacific Railroad.

Newell, Paul C.The Patty Groesbeck Collecton consists primarily of documents pertaining to locomotive engineers' employment and job duties for railroads including the Northern Pacific, Southern Pacific, Milwaukee Road, Great Northern, Burlington Northern and other railroads between 1905 and 1996. It also includes some fifty photographs of railroad locomotives and cars in various locations throughout the western United States.

The Mark Gelhaus Collection includes documents, timetables, operating instructions, equipment manuals, maps, equipment registers, photographs and sound recordings produced between 1885 and 1994. Railroad represented include the Northern Pacific, Burlington Northern, Union Pacific, Southern Pacific, Milwaukee Road, Great Northern and other railroads. Many of these materials were accumulated by Michael D. Gelhaus and Al Bennett.

Also included are a Railroad Commisssioners' report from 1907, a Consolidated Code from 1967, an Electro-Motive Division Operator's Manual for their SD-7 from 1954, a United Transportation Union Schedule for Trainmen and Yardmen from 1969, a Chicago and Northwestern Railroad notebook, "The Railroad Spiral" by William Searles, 1906, and a Southern Pacific "Shasta Route" timetable from 1956.

Christensen, John H.The James Fredrickson Collection is an extensive compilation of documents and photographs, primarily concerned with the Northern Pacific Railroad Company with additional coverage of other Pacific Northwest railroads. The Fredrickson Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) collection covers documents from the Northern Pacific's Tacoma and Idaho Divisions from 1900 to 1927. Many of these documents are actually Field Completion Reports (FCR).
