Great Northern Steam Locomotive 2550 at Hillyard, Washington, 1935

Great Northern Steam Locomotive 2550, a Class S-1, a 2-8-2, built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1929, 28"x30" cylinders, 73" drivers, 250 psi steam pressure, 4720,100 pounds weight, 68,500 pounds tractive effort. This class did not work out as passenger engines so they were used on freight from Spokane, Washington to Whitefish, Montana. Taken at Hillyard, Washington by David Emerson in 1935.
