SP&S 2-8-0 steam locomotive Number 365, Class N-2, on the ready tracks at Portland, Oregon. Compare this with image WWASPSS-05-024 to see the difference in class light locations as well as different tenders. As to the wheel on the lead truck, this is a Davis Cast Steel Wheel which was supposed to have greater strength and a longer wearing life. Photo by Herb Arey.

SP&S 2-8-0 steam locomotive Number 360, Class N-2, at Vancouver, Washington in 1940. As these 2-8-0's were used in the timber areas around Vernonia some items to note are the dual height coupler pocket so disconnect log trucks could be handled and the hose wrapped around the sand dome which was used to fight small fires.
