      SP&S 4-6-0 steam locomotive Number 106, Class D-1, on the ready tracks at Portland, Oregon in April 1925. This locomotive was formerly Great Northern Number 1049 built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in August 1910. As to the wheels on the lead truck, these are Davis Cast Steel Wheels which were supposed to have greater strength and a longer wearing life.
