Northern Pacific passenger train 415, Tacoma-East Auburn connection, passes a semaphore signal and arrives at East Auburn, Washington, on August 24, 1954, led by Class W-2 Mikado-type steam locomotive number 1675, on final day of operation for the connection trains that employees nicknamed "vaudeville" due to repeated turns during the day. The train of baggage car, coach, and parlor car will deliver passengers for train 26, the eastbound North Coast Limited, then deadhead back to Tacoma as a "DHE." Photo by J.M. Fredrickson.
