        A helper set consisting of Burlington Northern Type SD40-2's Number 7288, Number 7285 and Number 7280 are cut in ahead of a Burlington Northern wide-vision caboose with Fort Worth and Denver Railway (FW&D) reporting marks on a unit coal train at Palmer Lake, Colorado on September 6, 1981. Number 7288 was built by EMD April, 1980 as Builder Number 786252-53. It was retired by the Burlington Northern and became BNSF Number 7288, FURX Number 7288, and NREX Number 7288. Number 7285 was built by EMD March, 1980 as Builder Number 786252-50. It was retired by the Burlington Northern and became FURX Number 7285, NREX Number 7285, and DA Number 7285. Number 7280 was built by EMD April, 1980 as Builder Number 786252-45. It was retired by the Burlington Northern and became FURX Number 7280, NREX Number 7280, and NS Number 3484.
