History
Nearly lifelong resident of Des Moines, Washington, Paul was a graduate of Highline High School, and the University of Washington with both a bachelor's and a master's degree in Atmospheric Sciences. He spent 6 years in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Viet Nam, briefing the Central Command on weather forecasts. For his service he was awarded the Bronze Star and Air Force Commendation Medal, before leaving the Air Force as a Captain. Following his military service, he worked for Continental Airlines, Western Airlines and Delta Airlines before leaving the industry to work for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
