This collection is comprised of Northern Pacific Railroad Authorization for Expenditure files and Record of Property Change files.
The Northern Pacific Railroad Historical Association Collection includes Northern Pacific Railroad Special Projects files, a picture of two locomotives: Great Northern Railway 5201 and Saint Paul Union Depot Company 441, a book - "The Dutiful Son" by Young and McCormack, a magazine - "The Call of the Mountains", and miscellaneous photos, some by Warren McGee and Ronald Nixon, primarily of Northern Pacific Railroad subjects.
The Northern Pacific Railroad Records Collection includes Valuation Records which provide an inventory of the entire railroad at the time the records were created. Most of valuation reports are from the early to mid 1920s. Items include bridges, tunnels, track structure, buildings, signaling, shops (including tools), rolling stock and locomotives. The collectionincludes some 50 volumes corresponding to geographic areas of the railroad (Valuation Sectio). There is a volume of maps showing the Valuation Sections in detail. Some of the records correspond to subsidiary companies of the Northern Pacific such as the Minnesota & International and the Duluth Union Depot and Transfer Railway. The collection also includes Interstate Commerce Commision Accident Reports, Interstate Commerce Commision OAO and Northern Pacific Railroad Mechanical Department documents.

The Pat Stafford Collection is comprised of of photos, along with a 1903 Northern Pacific Railroad annual report, some miscellaneous pamphlets (including advertising), and small books, a book "Report on the Great Northern Railway", publicity photos, memorabilia, and bound annual copies of the Great Northern Railway company publication"Talking It Over" for 1962 to 1967 and 1969.
The Patrick Weeden Collection is comprised of a Locomotive Unit Inspection and Repair Report.
