The Bob Heirman Collection consists of equipment manuals, rule books, timetables, personnel records including seniority lists, ephemera, approximately 30 photographs, maps and published books and magazines. Railroads covered include principally the Great Northern, Northern Pacific, Burlington Northern, and other Railroads including the Camas Prairie; Chicago, Burlington and Quincy; and Seattle and International Railway for the period between 1905 and 2016.

In 2008 the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, now BNSF, transferred a large collection of materials to institutions in the Saint Paul, Minnesota area. The Great Northern Railway Historical Society received approximately 4700 items consisting of right of way maps, plat maps, station maps, filing maps, geographic maps, state maps, mechanical drawings, as well as facility and structure drawings. In addition the materials contained engineering study records, and documents and ledgers of various kinds. The date range for these materials are from 1854 to 2008.

Accrual W2015-36: 4 maps of the Oregon Trunk Railway near Wishram, Washington, books on the Pullman Company, various railroad rule books. Accrual W2016-17: Great Northern, Nothern Pacific track profiles and plats in western Washington, Russell Company maps of Sedro-Woolley, Washington and Bellingham, Washington, and a Burlington Nothern system map. Accrual W2017-53: a topographical map of Butte, Montana from 1897. Accrual W2017-77: a Nothern Pacific demurrage from Prosser, Washington for 1941-1946, 3 maps of the Lester, Washington area, a book of electrical drawings for the Nothern Pacific's Lester, Washington headquarters. Accrual W2017-87: The Milwaukee Road Instruction Book for Class EP-2 Locomotives and a book "The Walschaert and Other Modern Radial Valve Gears for Locomotives", 1916, by W. W. Wood.

The Ann Meyer Collection includes ephemera from the Milwaukee Road, Northern Pacific, and Great Northern, a Milwaukee Road timetable, 2 Great Northern, 1 Southern Pacific and 1 Canadian National photograph, and "The Story of the Wellington Avalanche".

The Alfred E. Michon Collection includes documents produced by the Great Northern Railway Company (U.S.), Burlington Northern Railroad Company, Spokane, Portland, and Seattle Railway and Northern Pacific Railroad Company and other railroads between 1966 and 1996. Also included in the collection are a wide variety of railroad ephemera from a variety of railroads and 25 photographs on the shipping of coal from the Powder River Basin in Wyoming.
