The Cordell Newby Collection consists of 1902 color photographs of Great Northern Railway Company subjects, principally equipment and locations, taken by Mr. Newby in multiple locations between Chicago, Illinois and Seattle, Washington between 1971 and 1988. The Cordell Newby Collection includes the Baldwin Locomotives quarterly magazine from January, 1925 and the following Great Northern Railway documents: Analysis of Diesel Ownership and Distribution, 1975; Instructions for the Operation and Maintenance of Electric Motive Power, 1947; an outline drawing for B-D-D-B-720/720-12GE-746-56 1/2 GA, 1947. "New Cascade Tunnel original and reproduction copies, a brochure "The Most Powerful Motor-Generator Type Electric Locomotive in the World", 1929; Form 1404 - Time Return and Delay Report of Engine and Train Employees, May 1947 and June 1956; a drawing - Locomotive Wiring Diagram # 36565 for locomotives 5010-5017, 1953; and Engineer's Train Register at Appleyard, 1955

The Clive Carter Collection consists primarily of railroad enthusiast and railroad modeler publications with addition material on the Spokane International Railway, Burlington Northern Railroad Company, Great Northern Railway Company (U.S.), Spokane, Portland, and Seattle Railway and other railroads. Materials are dated between 1980 and 2010.

The Chuck Strawn Collection includes photographs of United States and Canadian railroad subjects, primarily equipment and structures. The photographs were mostly taken by Chuck Strawn but include some taken by his father, D.A. Strawn, and other photographers.

The collection puts together educational booklets from Railway Educational Bureau, issues of the "Narrow Gauge and Short Line Gazette", station and bridge drawings, Northern Pacific forms and BN "West Chronicles", an NP Engine Facility Plat Map Book, 8 photos of derailment of tank cars with resulting fire, a drawing and request for passenger depot near Dryad, WA, a "Model Railroader" article from the January, 2002 issue on GN M-2 Class 2-6-8-0, a framed photo showing a pile driver, and 2 books: "Ships of the Inland Sea" and Sternwheelers up the Columbia", 12'x26" photo of Puget Sound Flouring Mill workers in front of mill and Stadium Telegraph Office. The Chris Tossey Collection joins maps of the Great Northern route over Stevens Pass, Washington and notes from on-site research.

The Charles Jarrett Collection includes Great Northern Railway ephemera, photographs, correspondence, maps, brochures, a telegraph key and model box cars.

The Charles Intlekofer Collection is comprised of some 5,000 photographs taken between 1953 and 1980 of Great Northern subjects. It also includes 3 boxes of Great Northern business files, documents and newsletters, with extensive documentation of Great Northern Authorizations for Expenditure 22053, 34418, 6416 and 11246.

The C. F. Wolfe Collection consists of materials dated between 1926 and 1980 and includes 33 maps and track profiles of the Great Northern Railway Company (U.S.) and the Burlington Northern Railroad Company, and various mechanical drawings and specifications for railroad tracks for the Great Northern Railway Company (U.S.), Burlington Northern Railroad Company and Northern Pacific Railroad Company.

The Burlington Route Historical Society Collection includes Great Northern drawings 111-2519-1 for a hopper car, for Snow Shed #2: 229-5660-1-5 and photographs of various Great Northern Railway and Northern Pacific Railroad subjects.
