The Jim Adams Collection takes in Amtrak timetables, Amtrak zone maps, Railway Education Bureau lesson materials, Milwaukee Road timetables a Union Pacific rule book and other miscellaneous railroad-related ephemera, newspaper clippings and artifacts.

Railroad represented include the Northern Pacific, Burlington Northern, Union Pacific, Southern Pacific, Milwaukee Road, Great Northern and other railroads. Many of these materials were accumulated by Michael D. Gelhaus and Al Bennett.

The Patty Groesbeck Collecton consists primarily of documents pertaining to locomotive engineers' employment and job duties for railroads including the Northern Pacific, Southern Pacific, Milwaukee Road, Great Northern, Burlington Northern and other railroads between 1905 and 1996. It also includes some fifty photographs of railroad locomotives and cars in various locations throughout the western United States.
