The James Fredrickson Collection is an extensive compilation of documents and photographs, primarily concerned with the Northern Pacific Railroad Company with additional coverage of other Pacific Northwest railroads. The Fredrickson Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) collection covers documents from the Northern Pacific's Tacoma and Idaho Divisions from 1900 to 1927. Many of these documents are actually Field Completion Reports (FCR).
The James Martin Collection consists of 8 published railroad books, miscellaneous railroad ephemera, 423 photographs and negatives of railroad subjects, and additional photographs and items primarily from the Great Northern Railway.
The James Mattson Collection includes a set of Northern Pacific Railroad Company Field Completion Reports, a book of Northern Pacific right of way plat from Paradise, Montana to Hope, Idaho, 2 Great Northern Railway Company (U.S.) Authorization For Expenditure books originally held at the King Street Station, Seattle, Washington. It also a group of various railroad maps and track profiles and 4 boxes of various railroad time tables.
The Jann Carson Collection includes Smithsonian Institution reproductions of paintings of Native American warriors by George Catlin done between 1830 and 1836.
The Jim Adams Collection takes in Amtrak timetables, Amtrak zone maps, Railway Education Bureau lesson materials, Milwaukee Road timetables a Union Pacific rule book and other miscellaneous railroad-related ephemera, newspaper clippings and artifacts.
The Jim Cross Collection encompasses copies of the 1909 and 1923 contracts between the Northern Pacific and the Oregon & Washington Railroad for joint possession of the railroad line between Vancouver, Washington and South Tacoma, Washington.
