The Paul Williams Collections includes 23 books on railroad subjects, including the Great Northern Railway (U.S.), Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Pacific Railroad Company and Canadian Pacific Railway Company.

The Peter N. Halgren collection includes periodical clippings and photographs Mr. Halgren used for research on railroads and railroad modeling. It is organized by railroad, topic, locomotive type, car type and other subjects selected by Mr. Halgren. Circus trains make up the contents of several binders. Much of the collection includes photocopies of commonly available periodicals as well as photographs collected by Mr. Halgren. Many North American railroads are covered, including the Southern Pacific Railroad.

The Peter Schmid Collection includes the books "Highball" by Beebe and "Domeliners" by Dorin.

The Phil Beach Collection materials focus primarily on the Northern Pacific Railroad Company and its successor, the Burlington Northern Railroad Company, with addition materials covering the railroad industry as a whole. Documents include annual reports, timetables, accident investigation reports, employee rule books, Official Guides and Railway Operating Equipment guides. Photographs are primarily of Northern Pacific and Burlington Northern subjects. Also included are books on railroad subjects and a variety of railroad and model railroad magazines.

The Phillip Atkins Collection consists of 8 published books on railroad topics.

The Reese Humphreys Collection is comprised primarily of Northern Pacific documents dated between 1910 and 1970. They include timetables, annual reports, maps, special instructions and calendars. Additional materials from the Burlington Northern and other railroads are also included.

The Robert Berger Collection is comprised of 3,237 photographic slides taken by Al Robinson in the mid to late 1900's. Subjects are primarily railroad equipment and locations for the Northern Pacific, Great Northern, Burlington Northern, SP&S, Union Pacific and other railroads.

The Robert Butler Collection assembles time tables from the Puget Sound and Willapa Harbor Railway, Tacoma Eastern Railroad, and Milwaukee Road Coast Division, Pullman coach keys, ticket punches from the Milwaukee Road Olympian passenger train and a Milwaukee Road caboose key.

The Robert Colley is comprised of timetables, operating documents, photographs, books and periodicals on a variety of railroad subjects. Materials date between 1881 and 2007 with the majority from the second half of the twentieth century.

The Robert E. Kelly Collection includes a Northern Pacific Railroad Company Annual Report from 1881, 15 Northern Pacific track profiles from Montana, a Great Northern Railway Company (U.S.) book of Authorization for Expenditure from 1916-1956 for locations in Washington state, 5 books on James J. Hill, a copy of the 1948 Railway Engineering & Maintenance Cyclopedia - Track, Bridges, Water Service, Buildings, Signals. It also includes the books: "Railroads of Hawaii", "Puget Sound Electric Railway", "Empire Dreams", "The Early History of Transportation in Oregon", and "Great Northern Railway - Postwar Passenger Trains"; and 22 Inland Empire Historical Society calendars from 1976 to 2002. Later accruals added binders of Great Northern Railway Company photographs, Great Northern Railway station maps and other maps, Great Northern Railway documents and drawings, materials on the avalanche on the Great Northern Railway at Wellington, Washington, research materials on the Great Northern Railway Stevens pass rail line, a copy of "The Camas Prairie - Idaho's Panhandle Railroad", computer discs of oral history, copies of six books - "The Great Northern Railway - Kettle Falls, Washington Branch", "Rocky's Rail - A Spokane Division Trainman, 1960-2004", and "We Never Drove the Last Spike", "Remembering When", "Stevens Pass-Gateway to Seattle", "The Great Northern Railway Through Time", and state transportation maps for Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, northern California showing transportation zones.
