The Mark Gelhaus Collection includes documents, timetables, operating instructions, equipment manuals, maps, equipment registers, photographs and sound recordings produced between 1885 and 1994. Railroad represented include the Northern Pacific, Burlington Northern, Union Pacific, Southern Pacific, Milwaukee Road, Great Northern and other railroads. Many of these materials were accumulated by Michael D. Gelhaus and Al Bennett.

The Mark Lawson Collection consists of materials primarily pertaining to the Milwaukee Road.

The Martin Evoy Collection is comprised of paint samples for Great Northern Railway buildings and cars, drawings of signal parts and assemblies, time tables, audio descriptions of railway equipment and buildings, track profile drawings for various divisions, a copy of "Railroad History #143", standard signs discription book, published manuscripts (orignals), 1 copy of "The Saint Paul Daily Pioneer" newspaper which incudes the local railroad timetables, a folder discribing the new Cascade Tunnel, a track laying record for the Great Northern Railway, a book on the Libby Dam and Great Northern Railway line relocation, Dec 1917 report for relocation and electrification for Cascade Tunnel, 2 Western Star passenger train baggage tags, delay reports for August, 1927, a copy of Standard Signal Plans book, book of Condensed History of the Great Northern, Operation and Maintenance Manual for Flathead Tunnel, valuation docket May 12,1893, valuation dockets 1905-1907, 5 railroad logo plaques, and a lantern, books, slides, black and white photos, film strips of depots and maintenance buildings and research materials, including paint color samples and other miscellaneous items.

The Martin J. Lins Collection includes photographs of her uncle, Martin J. Lins, Chief Special Agent of the Great Northern, menus from President Franklin Roosevelt's trip to Glacier Park, Montana on August 3-7, 1934, and Martin Lin's Certificate of Annuity on his retirement.

The contents of the Martin Johnson Collection were unrecorded at the time of accession.

The Marty Johnston Collection is comprised of photographs of railroad subjects from the first half of the 1900's with emphasis on the Great Northern and other northwestern railroads. Some timetables, maps and newspaper clippings are also included. Materials were collected by Robert Pearson, Mr. Johnston's grandfather.

The Marvin Hardy Collection consists of published books on railroad topics, collected by Jack Smith.
