Warren W. Wing, a World War II veteran and longtime resident of Seattle, passed away on August 31, 2011. He was born on August 20, 1918, in Seattle, Washington and retired from the US Postal Service in 1973, after 30 plus years of service. He loved trains and ferries, they were his lifelong hobbies. He wrote 5 books about trains, and also enjoyed printing photos in his basement darkroom to sell at train swap meets. He was a charter member of the Northwest Rail Fan Club.

Charles F. Wolfe (Fred, C. F.) worked for the Great Northern Railway Company (U.S.) from 1946 to 1970 and the Burlington Northern Railroad Company from 1970 to 1981. He was employed first as a surveyor, then as a draftsman and retired as Chief Draftsman at the King Street Station in Seattle (Wash.). According to his daughter, he surveyed portions of the Great Northern/Burlington Northern line from Skykomish (Wash.) to North Dakota.
